Purpose:
The Conveyor Belt Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance,
and repair of conveyor belts used in mining and logistics. This role involves
ensuring the efficient and safe operation of conveyor belt systems, troubleshooting issues, and performing preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
Responsibilities:
- Understanding of conveyor belt systems, their components, and how they operate
is essential. This includes knowledge of conveyor belt sizes and their specific
requirements for joining. - Apply various splicing techniques such as mechanical splicing, vulcanization,
and chemical bonding. Each method requires specific skills and knowledge to
execute effectively in the field. Precision is critical when measuring, cutting,
and aligning conveyor belts to ensure smooth operation without damage. - Troubleshoot and diagnose issues related to conveyor belt joints, such as
tracking problems, belt slippage, and mechanical failures.
