
Assistant Mining Manager
Job Summary:
The Assistant Mining Manager is a vital role within the mining industry, supporting the operations and management of mining activities. Working closely with the Mining Manager, this position plays a crucial role in ensuring efficient and safe mining operations while adhering to regulatory guidelines and company policies.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Mining Operations Support:
• Collaborate with the Mining Manager to plan and execute daily mining operations.
• Monitor and manage mining activities to ensure adherence to safety protocols and company policies.
• Assist in implementing strategies to optimize production, reduce costs, and enhance productivity.
2. Team Supervision:
• Provide guidance and support to mining teams, ensuring they understand their responsibilities and goals.
• Assist in training new employees and ensuring existing staff receives ongoing training to maintain high-quality work standards.
• Help in resolving conflicts and addressing employee concerns in a professional and timely manner.
3. Safety Compliance:
• Promote a strong safety culture throughout the mining site.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments to identify and address potential hazards.
• Ensure compliance with local and federal regulations regarding mining operations.
4. Equipment and Maintenance:
• Coordinate with maintenance and engineering teams to schedule regular equipment inspections and repairs.
• Monitor equipment performance and report any issues to the Mining Manager promptly.
• Participate in the procurement of necessary mining equipment and supplies.

• Assist in maintaining accurate records of production, expenses, and other relevant data.

Qualifications and Requirements
A Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, or a related field is typically required.
7 – 10 years of Experience in the mining operations or related industries.
Prior experience in mining operations, preferably in a supervisory or leadership role, is beneficial.
Strong understanding of mining principles, techniques, and equipment. Familiarity with relevant software for data analysis and reporting is an advantage.
