Crusher Maintenance Tech (Mechanic)
Job Summary:
Crusher Maintenance Mechanic, plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of crushers used in mining, construction, or other industries.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on crushers and related equipment to ensure they operate smoothly and efficiently. This includes jaw crushers, cone crushers, impact crushers, and screens.
2. Troubleshooting: Identify and diagnose equipment issues and malfunctions, both mechanical and electrical, to determine the root cause of problems and recommend appropriate repairs.
3. Preventive Maintenance: Develop and follow a preventive maintenance schedule to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of crushing equipment.
4. Parts Replacement: Replace worn or damaged parts, such as conveyor belts, bearings, pulleys, screens, and motors, following manufacturer specifications.
5. Lubrication: Properly lubricate machinery components and ensure they are adequately greased to reduce friction and prevent premature wear.
6. Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, including lockout/tagout procedures, to ensure a safe work environment for oneself and others.
7. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance for reporting and historical reference.
8. Equipment Inspections: Conduct regular inspections to identify potential safety hazards and address them promptly.
9. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other maintenance and operational teams to coordinate repairs and maintenance schedules, ensuring minimal disruption to production.
10. Continuous Learning: Stay updated on new technologies, tools, and techniques related to crusher maintenance to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications and Requirements
Diploma or Degree
4 – 8 years of Experience
Skills
1. Mechanical Aptitude: Strong mechanical skills and the ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems.
2. Electrical Knowledge: Basic understanding of electrical systems and the ability to troubleshoot electrical issues.
3. Safety Consciousness: A deep commitment to safety and the ability to identify and mitigate safety hazards.
4. Equipment Expertise: Familiarity with various types of crushers and their components, including knowledge of manufacturers’ specifications.
5. Problem-Solving: Effective problem-solving skills to diagnose and address equipment issues efficiently.
6. Preventive Maintenance: Proficiency in developing and following preventive maintenance schedules to reduce downtime.
7. Technical Proficiency: Ability to use hand and power tools, as well as specialized equipment for maintenance and repairs.
