Crusher Operator

Job Summary

The Crusher Operators will perform the day to day operation of the various stage crushing and screening plant and conveying and stacking system. These positions reports to the Crusher Foreman. This is a safety sensitive position.

Job Responsibilities

Perform the day to day operation of the crushing and screening plant and conveying and stacking system;
Operate equipment safely and efficiently to maximize throughput;
Monitor equipment and systems to insure proper operation;
Insure quality of material being crushed, screened and stacked to maximize permeability and recovery;
Provide input and assist maintenance personnel as needed;
Perform cleanup and housekeeping to insure a safe, clean and productive work area;
Perform inspections throughout to insure shift dust control systems are functioning properly and that dust is being controlled;
Perform conveyor and stacker moves as needed;
As needed, assist metallurgical personnel to achieve maximum system performance and recovery;
Assists with training of new crusher operators;
Assist with the development of methods and procedures;
Perform all work in a manner to achieve a zero level of incidents in the process department;
Participate in crusher department safety meetings; and
Offer ideas and suggestions for continuous improvement of the crushing facility operations

Qualifications and Requirements

5 – 10 years of Relevant Experience

Experience in crushing and screening and stacking operations preferred
Experience with operation and maintenance crushing equipment including but not limited to jaw crushers, cone crushers, HPGR crushers, screens, agglomeration, conveyors and stackers
Experience in operation of forklifts, skid steers and track dozers
Experience in operation of dust control systems, high pressure sprays and baghouses
Experience working around electrical systems
Effective communication skills, as well as solid interpersonal and problem solving skills;
High work standards and a professional presence and must be results-oriented and a solid team member with the ability to drive projects forward with minimal supervision
Driver’s license required
High school diploma
