Crusher Welder
Job Summary:
A Crusher Welder, also known as a Crusher Welding Technician or Crusher Welder Fabricator, is responsible for performing welding and fabrication tasks on crushers and related equipment in industries such as mining, construction, and aggregates.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Welding: Perform various welding techniques, such as MIG, TIG, and stick welding, to repair and fabricate components of crushers and related equipment, including crusher frames, conveyor systems, and chutes.
2. Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings to understand project requirements and welding specifications.
3. Material Preparation: Prepare materials by cutting, grinding, and shaping them to the required dimensions, ensuring a proper fit and alignment during welding.
4. Weld Inspection: Inspect welds for quality, accuracy, and structural integrity, and make any necessary adjustments or repairs.
5. Maintenance and Repair: Conduct routine maintenance and repair tasks on crushers and associated equipment, including welding wear plates, liners, and other components.
6. Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), to ensure a safe work environment and prevent accidents.
7. Equipment Maintenance: Maintain welding equipment and tools in good working condition, performing regular inspections and minor repairs.
Qualifications and Requirements
Diploma
4 – 8 years of Experience
Skills
1. Welding Skills: Proficiency in various welding techniques (MIG, TIG, stick) and the ability to produce high-quality welds on different materials, including steel and alloys.
2. Blueprint Reading: Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings accurately.
3. Safety Awareness: A strong commitment to safety, with the ability to identify and mitigate safety hazards associated with welding and fabrication.
4. Weld Inspection: Knowledge of weld inspection methods and the ability to ensure the quality and structural integrity of welds.
5. Fabrication Skills: Experience in fabricating and fitting components, including cutting, grinding, and shaping materials.
6. Welding Equipment: Proficiency in operating welding equipment, including maintenance and troubleshooting.
7. Material Knowledge: Understanding of different types of metals and alloys used in crusher components.
8. Problem-Solving: Effective problem-solving skills to address welding and fabrication challenges efficiently.
