Purpose:
Responsible for the safe and efficient transport and delivery of fuel to various locations.
This role involves driving fuel trucks, loading and unloading fuel, and ensuring compliance
with all safety regulations and procedures. The operator must maintain accurate records and
provide excellent customer service during deliveries.
Responsibilities:
Driving and Transportation:
- Safely operate fuel trucks to transport fuel to designated locations
- Plan and follow the most efficient routes for delivery
- Ensure adherence to traffic laws and company policies while driving
Loading and Unloading:
- Load fuel into the truck at designated fueling stations or depots
- Unload fuel at delivery sites, ensuring accurate and safe transfer of fuel
- Monitor fuel levels during loading and unloading to prevent spills and overflows
Safety and Compliance:
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures for handling and transporting fuel
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and equipment
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations regarding fuel transport
Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate records of fuel deliveries, including quantities, locations, and times
- Complete and submit required documentation, such as delivery tickets and logs
- Report any incidents, accidents, or discrepancies to the supervisor promptly
Customer Service:
- Interact professionally with customers during deliveries
- Address any customer inquiries or concerns regarding fuel delivery
- Provide excellent service to ensure customer satisfaction
Vehicle Maintenance:
- Perform routine maintenance and checks on the fuel truck to ensure it is in good working condition
- Report any mechanical issues or necessary repairs to the maintenance department
- Keep the truck clean and organized
