Responsibilities:
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks on heavy equipment, including oil changes, lubrication, filter replacement, and other preventive maintenance activities to ensure optimal performance.
- Diagnosis and Repair: Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues using diagnostic tools and equipment. Perform necessary repairs and replacements of parts and components.
- Equipment Inspections: Conduct thorough equipment inspections to identify worn or damaged parts and recommend repairs or replacements. Document inspection findings and maintenance activities.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while working on heavy equipment. Ensure that repaired equipment meets safety standards and regulations.
- Parts Management: Manage spare parts inventory, order replacement parts, and maintain records of parts usage. Coordinate with suppliers and vendors as needed.
- Welding and Fabrication: Perform welding and fabrication tasks to repair or modify equipment components as necessary.
- Record Keeping: Maintain detailed records of equipment maintenance and repairs, including service histories, work orders, and parts used.
- Emergency Repairs: Respond to breakdowns and emergency repair requests promptly, ensuring minimal downtime of equipment.
- Training and Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior mechanics and apprentices. Share knowledge and best practices.
