Road Fleet Supervisor

Purpose:

The Foreman will be responsible for overseeing daily road maintenance and fleet management operations at the mining site.
This role includes supervising roadwork teams, ensuring safe and efficient fleet operations, and performing vehicle maintenance
tasks as necessary. The Foreman will ensure all tasks are performed in compliance with safety regulations and company standards.

Responsibilities:

1. Road Maintenance:

  • Supervise road maintenance activities, including grading, compacting, and drainage management to ensure optimal road conditions.
  • Identify areas of road damage or deterioration and coordinate timely repairs.
  • Monitor the condition of mud roads and take proactive measures to minimize tire punctures or other vehicle-related issues.
  • Work closely with the Road Engineer to implement road construction projects.

2. Fleet Operations:

  • Oversee the operation and maintenance of the vehicle fleet, ensuring all vehicles are safe and operational.
  • Coordinate vehicle repairs, tire changes, and preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Supervise the loading and unloading of materials to ensure safe and efficient workflows.
  • Ensure all vehicles are properly maintained and available for operation as needed.

3. Team Supervision:

  • Lead and supervise road maintenance and vehicle operators, ensuring efficient and safe work.
  • Assign daily tasks and monitor team performance, providing feedback and corrective actions as necessary.
  • Ensure team members follow safety protocols and company policies at all times.

4. Equipment and Vehicle Maintenance:

  • Conduct regular inspections of road maintenance equipment and vehicles.
  • Ensure necessary repairs and maintenance are completed in a timely manner.
  • Maintain an inventory of spare parts and tools needed for vehicle and road equipment repairs.

5. Safety and Compliance:

  • Ensure all road maintenance and fleet operations comply with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Conduct regular safety briefings and inspections to maintain a safe worksite.
  • Report accidents, incidents, and near misses, and take steps to mitigate future risks.

6. Coordination with Road Engineer:

  • Provide regular updates to the Road Engineer on road conditions, vehicle performance, and any issues affecting operations.
  • Assist the Road Engineer in planning and executing road maintenance and construction projects.
