Purpose:
Responsible for installing, repairing, balancing, and maintaining tires on various vehicles. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The Tyre Man ensures that all work is completed to the highest standards of safety and quality.
Responsibilities:
Tyre Installation and Repair:
- Mount and dismount tires from wheels
- Install and balance new or used tires on vehicles
- Perform puncture repairs, patching, and plugging of tires
Inspection and Maintenance:
- Inspect tires for wear, damage, and other potential issues
- Rotate tires and maintain proper inflation levels
- Provide recommendations for tire replacement and maintenance to customers
Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate records of services performed
- Document any additional issues found during inspections
- Ensure all paperwork is completed and filed appropriately
Workshop Maintenance:
- Keep the workshop clean and organized
- Ensure all tools and equipment are in good working condition
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines
Expected Skills:
- Repairing punctures, cuts, and other tyre damages on heavy mining equipment
- Maintaining optimal tyre pressure and monitoring wear patterns to prevent premature failure
